This year's show theme is:
Categories are set for the 2026 Quilt Show.
100 Theme Quilt - Quilt should reflect the theme of Under the Stars. Minimum perimeter 280”.

200 Small Theme Quilt - Quilt should reflect the theme of Under the Stars. Perimeter Less than 280”.

300 Hand Work Quilt – Must be at least 50% (more is desirable) prepared with handwork. This is described in the story upon entering. This includes but not limited to: hand quilting, hand embroidery, hand Sachiko, hand applique, hand beaded.

400 Domestic Machine Quilted - Quilted on a sit down, stationary/traditional sewing machine. Minimum perimeter 280”. Quilter’s hands move the fabric. This is not a long arm or short arm quilting machine.
500 Longarm Quilted by Maker - Quilted by the same person that pieced the quilt. Minimum perimeter 280”. Computer or pattern may be used. Machine glides on a carriage frame. Fabric is still.
600 Longarm Quilted by Other - Quilted by a different person than the maker. Minimum perimeter 280”. Computer or pattern may be used. Machine glides on a carriage frame. Fabric is still.
700 Longarm Hand Guided - Minimum perimeter 280”. Quilter hand guides the machine as it
glides on a carriage frame. Rulers or freehand, no computer assistance. Fabric is still. Quilted by maker or another quilter.
800 Small Quilt or Wall Hanging - Maximum perimeter is 140”. The category includes miniature quilts

900 Medium Quilt or Wall Hanging - Perimeter is greater than 140”, and less than 210”
​
1000 Large Quilt or Wall Hanging - Perimeter is equal to or greater than 210” and is less than 280”.

1100 Other Quilted Item – may include bags, decorations or miscellaneous. Item has to incorporate quilting techniques.
​
1200 Original Art Quilt - Piece is one of a kind, non-traditional and designed completely by the maker.
​
1300 Challenge Quilt - FQG Members only. Members participate in a Challenge as part of the quilt show and follows Challenge sideboards related to Under the Stars theme .
1400 Junior Quilter– Any quilter under 18. Display only. Not required to attend kids camp to enter. Not required to be a member to enter. Note junior quilters are allowed to enter in other categories, with the same requirements for all others.
Special Exhibits as floor space allows: No ribbons are awarded on Special Exhibits.
1500E Heirloom Quilts – those special quilts from many years ago, quilts should be at least 40 years old. Maybe you made, or a special family member or friend. These may be completed quilts or just tops for 2026. There is a maximum of three Heirloom entries per guild member.
